Duke University's student group, the Working Group for the Environment in Latin America (WGELA), will be hosting a benefit 5K Fun Run as part of the Nicholas School of the Environment's celebration of Earth Day, in support of the Honduras Health Clinic project. And you're invited!

Snacks and socializing will happen afterwards.

Why: To raise funds for the Honduras Health Clinic and to celebrate Earth Day by getting outdoors and exercising.
How: Register online HERE.
Early registration will be $25 and goes from April 1st until April 17th. After the 17th, registration will be $30. Students can sign up in Hug Commons in the LSRC leading up to the event. All the registration fees will go towards the health clinic project.
The Earth Day 5-K promises to be a fun, family-friendly spring weekend activity at Duke's beautiful West Campus. We hope you join us in running (or walking) in the name of health!

Route
The 5-kilometer route meanders around Duke's scenic West Campus. Runners will pass Duke Chapel, Duke Gardens, Cameron Indoor Stadium, and the beautiful gothic architecture of the Main Quad. In April, the trees on campus are in full bloom and it is hard not to appreciate the natural beauty of spring in North Carolina as we celebrate Earth Day.
Parking
Participants can park in the on street parking along Lasalle Street and Circuit

Prizes
We have a bunch of cool prizes we will be raffling off, including:
*Duke swag (if you're a Carolina fan, you can do what you like to your Duke t-shirt, should you win... no judging)
*High-tech water bottles (the Klean Kanteen bottles have been described by some as "pretty amazing")
*$50 gift cards to Bull City Running Company (where you can find quality products for all your running needs)
All participants will also get a commemorative Earth Day 5K cup in order to give a gift that also reduces race-day waste.

Other Details
* Kids under 10 register for free. Bring the family!
* After the race ends, at 2:00 p.m., we will hold a raffle for our awesome prizes (above). Participants will be entered into the drawing automatically during sign-up and must be present during the drawing to claim their prizes, should their number be called.
* Refreshments will be provided after the race at the LSRC.
* Considering it's a celebration for Earth Day, we have designed our race to be as environmentally-responsible as possible. We encourage carpooling to campus and drinking from re-usable cups/bottles.
